Architect, of Belfast. In 1933 or 1934 William Maxwell formed a partnership with WILLIAM MACARTNEY GAMBLE  WILLIAM MACARTNEY GAMBLE and J.F. HAY,(1) practising as GAMBLE HAY & MAXWELL  GAMBLE HAY & MAXWELL until 1937 and as GAMBLE & MAXWELL  GAMBLE & MAXWELL thereafter.(2) Initially Gamble worked from Belfast while, until at least 1939, Maxwell ran the firm's Lisburn office.
