Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Builder and architect, of Cork, or perhaps two or more separate people. Edward Martin, builder, of Cork, is listed in West's Cork Directory for 1810, in Connor's Cork Directory for 1812, 1817 and 1828, and in Pigot's City of Dublin and Hibernian Provincial Directory for 1824, where he is described as architect and builder with an address in Bishop Street.(1) Both Connor's Cork Directory for 1817 and Jackson's Cork Directory for 1842-43 list two Edward Martins, one a builder and the other an architect, but Slater's National Commercial Directory of Ireland (1846) lists only one, an architect and builder, living in Mary Street.
