Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Thomas Manders was admitted a Freeman of the City of Dublin at Midsummer 1802 as a member of the Guild of Carpenters by virtue of birth. (1) A person of the same name, with an address in Digges Street, was a warden of the Guild of Bricklayers in 1805 and 1806.(2) A Thomas Manders is also recorded as a builder at 3 North Strand in Pigot & Co.'s City of Dublin and Hibernian Provincial Directory (1824). 'Thos. Manders, Esq. North-std' was a subscriber to William Stitt's The Practical Architect's Ready Assistant; or Builder's Complete Companion(Dublin, 1819).
