English architect, for biography and works of whom see Howard Colvin, A Biographical dictionary of British architects 1600-1840 (4th edn, 2008), 673. At the Royal Academy in 1812 Maliphant exhibited a design for conservatory 'proposed to be erected for Sir R. Levinge Bt, Ireland'(No. 37); this is presumably the conservatory in the grounds of Knockdrin Castle.(1)
