LONGFIELD, WILLIAM D.

Surveyor, valuer of estates and land agent, of Dublin. William Longfield was a son of JOHN LONGFIELD  and inherited his business. He retired circa 1850. His death, which took place in July 1870, was reported at the opening meeting of the 1870-71 session of the RIAI on 24 November, when his 'keen interest in and appreciation of architecture as a science and fine art' was noted.(1) THOMAS HENRY LONGFIELD , who was probably his son, continued to live at 19 Harcourt Street. JOHN LONGFIELD  who was living at 19 Harcourt Street in 1863 may have been another son.
