'CE', of Castlerea, Co. Roscommon. According to the 1911 census, Michael Joseph Leech was born in Co. Roscommon in 1886 or 1887. He was carrying out work for Castlerea Rural District Council by 1910, and in 1915 was appointed an assistant county surveyor for Co. Roscommon. He retired from the assistant county surveyorship in 1951 but continued as maintenance engineer to the River Suck Drainage Board until his death. He died, rather suddenly, on 13 October 1960 leaving a widow, son and daughters.
