Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Architect, of Belfast, active from the 1920s until the 1950s. Thomas Henry, who, according to the 1911 census, was born Belfast in 1874 or 1875, was one of the four sons of the Rev. R.M. Henry, of Belfast, minister of Great Victoria Street Baptist Church, and his wife, Kate, daughter of the Rev. Thomas Berry of Athlone.(1) The artist Paul Henry was his younger brother.(2)   At the time of the 1911 census, he had been married for two years to his wife, Margaret, but did not yet have any children.   His practice appears to have been largely commercial, although in the 1930s he was responsible for a large housing development on the Ainsworth estate in west Belfast.
