Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Architect, of Mallow, Co. Cork.  According to his 1911 census return, Cornelius Hayes was born in Co. Cork in 1850 or 1851. Although he describes himself as 'architect', no substantial works are reported in the Irish Builder.  He carried out repairs to Mallow Dispensary House in 1904(1) and was clerk of works to Mallow District Council from 1907(2)  or earlier until 1915(3) or later.  At the time of the 1911 census, he had been married for twenty-seven years to his wife, Ellie, and had five children.
