Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

English sculptor, who carved symbolic devices on the nave columns and corbels of St Anne's CI Cathedral, Belfast, 1925-1937.(1) Morris Harding, who, according to the 1911 census of England, was born in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, in 1874 or 1875, was based in London during the first three decades of the twentieth century but, perhaps as a result of the St Anne's commission, moved to Holywood, Co. Down, in 1928 or 1929. He exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1907 and 1930 and at the Royal Hibernian Academy, of which he was a member, every year from 1929 until 1953 excepting 1951.
