Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Builder, of Limerick, active in the first three decades of the nineteenth century. According to Lenihan, Nicholas Hannan and his brother WILLIAM HANNAN WILLIAM HANNAN , who were responsible for the design and constructin of the County Court House in Limerick (1807-1814). were natives of Co. Limerick.(1) Nicholas also worked on the court house at Bruff, Co. Limerick, in 1815.(2) The Hannans and JAMES & GEORGE RICHARD PAIN  JAMES & GEORGE RICHARD PAIN were contractors for Limerick county gaol (1818),(3) while Nicholas Hannan and a Mr Mackey - probably TIMOTHY MACKEY  TIMOTHY MACKEY were architects for additions to Limerick City Gaol (c.1826).(4)
