Builder, of Dublin and Drogheda. From the 1850s or earlier Arthur Hammond was active as a contractor in Drogheda, in partnership with Nicholas Hammond, who was perhaps his brother. Both men were possibly sons of THOMAS HAMMOND THOMAS HAMMOND . Arthur Hammond owned 'extensive' quarrying and stonecutting works at Sheep House, on the south side of the River Boyne, two and a half miles from Drogheda.(1) He also ran a building business in Dublin in the early 1860s and again in the 1880s.(2) The firm was still carrying out contracting work in 1887.
