Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Engineer, active in Co. Clare from 1903 or earlier until 1922 or later.   According to the 1911 census, Thomas Robert Griffin was born in Co. Kildare in 1860 or 1861.   He was an assistant county surveyor for Co. Clare from 1915 or earlier until 1922 or later.(1)   Indeed he probably held the position from as early as 1903 when he was responsible for the water supply to Kilkee, Co. Clare.(2)  At the time of the 1911 census he had been married to his wife, Annabella (née Keane), for eleven years and had a daughter and a son, aged eight and six, both born in Co. Clare.

Inst.CE: elected associate member, 1 May 1894;  transferred to member, 23 January 1900.(3)
