Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Engineer, employed on the Board of Works on drainage operations in the Borris-on-Ossory district of Co. Laois, circa 1848, when he constructed an accommodation bridge over the River Nore.(1) He may be the William Fraser, CE, who was a member of the Royal Irish Academy 1850-1852.(2) An engineer of this name, a younger brother of JOHN FRASER JOHN FRASER , died in India on 11 April 1874.(3)

ICEI: reads paper on 'Tidal action in the estuary of Ballytigue', 1845;(4) member by 8 January 1849, when he reads paper, 'An Account of some Experiments on the Strength of Nodels of Timber Lattice Beams';(5) no longer on list of members by 1870.(6)
