Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

James Fernsley was awarded a premium by the Dublin Society on 26 May 1774 as being one of the four best 'answerers' in the School of Drawing in Architecture.(1) A person of this name appears in Wilson's Dublin Directory as a carpenter and toolmaker at 37 Camden Street from 1799 until 1815. A William Fernsley was admitted to the School of Drawing in Architecture on 3 December 1778.(2)
