Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Builder, of Dublin, active from the 1830s until 1871. Michael Dunn died after a brief illness at his house in Amiens Street on 10 August 1871, aged 67. His obituarist in the Irish Builder described him as follows: 'By sheer perseverance and industry he raised himself up from an humble station - thus showing an example to the younger aspirants in his line. He was scrupulously exact in all his dealings, honourable in his engagements, and both in the character of an employer, citizen, or neighbour, earned the repect of all within the circle of his acquaintance.'(1)
