Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Amateur architect, of Donaghadee. Daniel De Lacherois, eldest son of Daniel De Lacherois of Donaghadeee and his wife, Mary, née Crommelin, was born in 1783 and died unmarried in 1850.(1) He was a Justice of the Peace and Deputy Lieutenant of Co. Down. He designed the powder magazine in Donaghadee, circa 1821, and adapted Thomas Cooley's designs for the church, completed in 1833, which he built at his own expense. He also prepared designs for Donaghadee court house, which were not carried out.
