Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Civil engineer. John F. Crowley was born in Mourneabbey, Co. Cork, circa 1884 and educated at the Royal College of Science, University College, Dublin, and University College, Cork, where he took his science doctorate. He became a partner in a firm of consulting engineers in London. He was associated with the construction of the Shannon Scheme and was a member of the Water Power Legislation Committee and vice-chairman of the Committee on the Water Power Resources of Ireland. He died in 1951.
