Theatre architect, of London, for whom see Catalogue of the Drawings Collection of the Royal Institute of British Architects and Directory of British Architects 1834-1914 (RIBA 2001), I, 463-4. In 1896 Crewe was enlisted by the Savoy Theatre of Varieties, Dublin, Ltd to design a new theatre in South Anne Street, Dublin, but the project was abandoned. Later, in 1913, he designed the Coliseum Theatre in Henry St, Dublin, which was destroyed in 1916, a year after it opened. He was also responsible for the conversion of the Theatre Royal, Arthur Square, Belfast, into a cinema, in 1915-17.
